Even though 2020 was so weird for many of us, I feel so lucky to have opportunity to photograph so many of these magical moments! This pandemic might have halted plans for array of things, but it totally did not cancel love. I had pleasure to document a few proposals during the last few months, and I am so very excited to share this Urban Light proposal story with you! If you were curious about other proposal stories, check out this Proposal Photographer blog. I will continue to update that blog post with new proposal stories too.
LACMA is a very popular destination in Los Angeles to see art of many forms. Did you know that it’s also the biggest museum in western United States? How cool is that? It also houses the famous Urban Lights – a beautiful public art exhibit created by Chris Burden. The lamps are restored street lamps from 1920s and 1930s, and it’s also a very popular destination for photos. So naturally, when Sam first reached out to me about proposing there I was so ecstatic! He was also so thorough on his plans – his now fiancé was picked up by their friend, who blind folded her and brought her to the lights. He had a sketch book full of words about their story and his love for her. Surrounded by their close friends, it was just so beautiful!
