For many Americans, 2020 is proving to not be a great time to host a wedding (or any large events). After Governor Newsom declared a halt to all large gatherings, it seemed to be a nightmare for many. Fortunately California started to ease on some restrictions, and Jess and Chris were able to host their quarantine wedding! Let me tell you – their backyard wedding was absolutely a DREAM. It was a small, but most beautiful, intimate wedding I had the honor to capture. The bride’s parents also had the most gorgeous backyard, with stunning mountain scape as backdrop. Topped with the fantastic team work of everyone involved in their wedding – it was dream come true.
Also I’m still quite obsessed with their first look. Their intimate moment was literally everything. The getting ready, that first look, some family portraits – everything pre-ceremony, an absolutely perfection. After these were done we quickly drove to San Dimas mountains for formal portraits. Jess already knew a rough idea where she wanted to go, and it was gorgeous! And while we were doing that, their wonderful family at home were setting up the ceremony space! Seriously, just look at the team work of this wonderful family!!
Jess and Chris also live streamed their wedding ceremony to their family and friends who couldn’t attend. This is a great idea for other couples trying to do their own backyard wedding! Some of the virtual attendees also dressed up for the occasion, how fun is that? Please just look at the beautiful, intimate ceremony, officiated by their brother-in-law. With the golden hour casting warmth in the mountains behind them, it honestly is a dream.
The Drive-by Celebration and Seriously, that Reception Setup!!
Also another fun tip for other backyard wedding couples, a celebration drive through! Their family had set up a surprise drive-through with their family and friends for the couple! It was so fun to capture the wonderful smiles and joy from everyone involved!
As for reception dinner, let me say Jess’ father is seriously a CHEF! It was such a treat for me to join them for their dinner. And please, oh please – just LOOK at their gorgeous reception set up. Its hard to believe the tables were plastic foldable tables and chairs. The family and the couple did such a wonderful job!! I am still obsessing over these, and so very excited to share them with you. Enjoy!!
