There’s just so much to be said about Together We Rise, I don’t even know where to even start. I feel incredibly lucky to be given a chance to become a photographer for their Disney Days event where they bring 300 wonderful children in foster care, to reunite them with their siblings at the happiest place on earth! I absolutely LOVE Disneyland – and to be able to go there, doing other things I love, Photography + Volunteering, was a dream come true.
As a local Los Angeles resident, I’ve been to Disneyland many, many times. But I know for sure – this trip with Together We Rise will always have a very special place in my heart. This is an experience of a life time, and I hope to do this again in the years to come. My feet were incredibly sore the day after, my throat was sore from yelling the kids’ names all day, but every minute of it was just so precious, so incredible, and I would not trade anything in the world for that day.
I was grouped with four other wonderful volunteer chaperones, two amazing social workers, and eleven(!) excited, energetic kids from age group of 5-8. For privacy sake, the children’s faces will be covered or blurred, but I do hope you can feel their energy from the photos. Saying good bye to everyone at the end of the night, was honestly the hardest time for myself. I sincerely hope that the children had as much fun as I did. I still think of the children often, especially the two I was designated as their “adult” for the day, and I know that they will always have a special place in my heart for forever.
Thank you, Together We Rise for allowing me to be a part of this day.

And that’s a wrap! Thank you for coming along my photo journey on my website at Disneyland. I am a firm believer in giving back to the community, and I try my best to use my spare time trying to do something good. Disney Days with Together We Rise was such a fulfilling event. My heart is full, and I sincerely hope the children had a lot of fun, too.
Thank you, Together We Rise.
